Classical Para-Surgical Heat Technique for Localised Pain
Agni Karma
Agni Karma is a classical Ayurvedic para-surgical technique in which controlled therapeutic heat is applied at precise points using a specialised instrument (shalaka). It is traditionally used for localised musculoskeletal pain — such as that around the knee, heel or shoulder.
The procedure is brief and precise: the point is confirmed by examination, the heat application takes only moments, and a soothing medicated paste is applied afterwards. It is performed by our physician, whose special interest lies in musculoskeletal care.
What the procedure involves
Point confirmation by physical examination
Momentary, controlled application of therapeutic heat
Immediate application of a soothing medicated preparation
Simple local care instructions afterwards
Agni Karma is considered only where assessment indicates it; sittings, if more than one, are spaced and reviewed by the physician.
