Panchakarma

An Overview of the Classical Cleansing Therapies at Vasudev Ayurveda

Personalized ayurvedic consultation and therapy

What is Panchakarma?

Panchakarma — literally “five actions” — is the classical set of Ayurvedic cleansing procedures: Vaman (therapeutic emesis), Virechana (medicated purgation), Basti (medicated enema), Nasya (nasal administration of medicines) and Raktmokshana (blood-letting). Together with preparatory detoxification and follow-up care, these procedures aim to remove accumulated imbalances and restore the body’s natural equilibrium.
At Vasudev Ayurveda, no procedure is performed off a menu. Dr. Harsh Kamboj, BAMS, assesses every patient first, decides which procedures are suitable, and sets the sequence, preparation and aftercare. The therapies themselves are carried out by our trained Panchakarma team — Gagandeep, Sangeeta and Priyanka.

What a Panchakarma course involves

  • A detailed consultation and Ayurvedic assessment before any therapy
  • Preparatory care (purvakarma) to ready the body for the main procedure
  • The main procedure, performed classically under supervision
  • Diet, routine and follow-up guidance after the course (paschatkarma)
Herbal preparations
Panchakarma is used at our hospital as part of assessment-based care for conditions including joint and musculoskeletal disorders, back and neck pain, skin concerns such as psoriasis, rhinitis and other chronic complaints. Whether a particular procedure is appropriate for you — and in what form — is always decided at consultation.
