Vaman is one of the five classical Panchakarma procedures: supervised therapeutic emesis traditionally used to expel aggravated Kapha from the body. In classical practice it is considered for certain respiratory, skin and Kapha-dominant conditions — always after proper assessment.
The procedure is never done directly. It follows days of preparatory oleation and fomentation, is performed in the morning under the direct supervision of our physician, and is followed by a graded diet (samsarjana krama) that rebuilds digestion step by step.
How Vaman is carried out
Preparatory oleation and fomentation over several days
Administration of the physician-selected emetic preparation
Continuous monitoring by the physician during the procedure
A graded recovery diet and rest guidance afterwards
Vaman is offered only to patients for whom assessment indicates it is suitable; our physician will explain the preparation, the day of the procedure and the aftercare before anything begins.
